Composite Bonding in Selah
Composite bonding is one of the quickest and easiest ways to instantly improve the look of an individual’s teeth. Using tooth-colored resin, teeth that have experienced damage or decay can have their function restored, and their overall appearance improved.
Some of the most common applications of composite bonding include:
- Filling cavities
- Repairing damaged or decayed teeth
- Adjusting the color of teeth
- Reducing gaps
- Adjusting tooth heights
- Correcting misshapen teeth
- Covering tooth roots
A composite bonding treatment can typically be completed in just one visit to our clinic. The first step is to remove any decay or deterioration that is present on the tooth. Next, the tooth is treated with a special resin that is applied in multiple layers. Each layer of resin is hardened using a dental curing light until the desired level of thickness has been achieved. The shade and color of this resin are chosen carefully in order to give the tooth a healthy and natural appearance.
At this point, the resin is allowed to fully dry so that it reaches the proper consistency. To complete the process, the tooth will be buffed and polished to provide it with the brightness and shine of a healthy tooth. Afterward, the patient will be given instructions on how to protect the composite bonding. If cared for properly, the composite bonding should last between five and ten years.
